Objective / Purpose

The Painter is responsible for maintaining the hotel's aesthetic appeal and protecting surfaces by performing a variety of painting, finishing, and minor repair work. This role contributes to delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities are maintained in a clean and visually appealing conditions.

Areas of Responsibility/ Tasks

Primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, windows, furniture, and other structures.
  • Apply protective coatings such as stains, varnishes, sealants, and waterproofing treatments.
  • Repair and patch walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using plaster, drywall compound, or other materials as needed.
  • Ensure work areas are properly cleaned and maintained during and after tasks.
  • Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired hues or touch-up areas as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety guidelines and hotel standards.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to complete maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections of paint conditions and recommend proactive maintenance solutions.
  • Assist in general maintenance tasks as needed (e.g., carpentry, drywall, minor plumbing/electrical).
  • Ensure minimal disruption to guests and associates during painting and repair projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, License, Certifications, Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent – preferred
  • 3+ years of professional painting experience, preferably in a commercial or hospitality environment - required
  • 2+ years of experience in hospitality, hotel, resort, timeshare real estate – preferred
  • Basic knowledge of other trades (plumbing, carpentry, electrical) – preferred
  • OSHA or other safety training certifications – preferred

 

Work Environment / Conditions

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience.

  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.
  • Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
